In June of 1962 a school in New York was telling kids to say a prayer to God every morning before they started teaching. The pray was "Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country." The prayer was optional but it involved little kids, and they are not known for their ability to stand alone in a crowd. So it was as though the government or school district was telling the kids to say a prayer, which violated their freedom of religion right. So after all the appeals the court decided that the school officials are not allowed to tell a student to pray or lead any religious activities with kids when they are acting as a representative of a school.

Hiding Who They Truly Are...

It made students abandon their religion while in school because they are being told that school officials are not allowed to talk about things with students when in school, but they are their only source out. Students don’t go asking other students advice on religious activities or religious things because students know that their peers aren’t really into things like that or they don’t have that much information.
